On May 23, an exhibition about Visingsborg County opens in the Gallery at Grenna Museum. The history of the county begins in 1562 when Per Brahe the Elder was awarded title of count and thus also a county, Visingsborg. For 118 years, the Brahe family ruled over the county, which became a center of industrial activity and trade.
It was Count Per Brahe the Younger who once founded the town of Gränna, so the county has, to say the least, had a major impact on both the town and its surroundings. The counts were often active in politics and traveled around Europe on various missions, but Visingsborg was their central point to which they always returned sooner or later.
The exhibition about the county opens on May 23 and remains on display until November 1.
Admission to the Gallery is free. Welcome!
